Camera Angle & Movement Ideas (House, Shed, and Landscape scenes) // Planning

Before I begin storyboarding my trailer I thought it was necessary to look into different angles and find shots that I would definitely like to use for my trailer. By doing this I can ensure that shots/angles I believe will appeal to my target audience will be included which may then entice them to watch it more.

The main element I want to establish is Emily's depression and how it develops and overwhelms her in the trailer. Relationships (friendships) will also be shown between Emily and the stock characters. From my previous research I have discovered that shot-reverse-shots are particular effective when two characters are exchanging dialogue.

Other shots, angles and possibly movements will be used to show clear genre iconography.

Below is a brief example:

Camera Shots used;
  • Establishing shot
  • Long shot
  • Close up

Camera Movements used;
  • Tracking
  • Hand-held camera movement
  • Panning

Camera Angles used;

  • Low angle
  • High angle

This gives me an idea of the range of camera shots, angles and movements in a trailer.
